Gadkari meets Nitish

Patna: National president of Bharatiya Janata Party Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday met chief minister Nitish Kumar. He expressed condolences for his mother Parmeshwari Devi’s death. eputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, state president of Bharatiya Janata Party Dr C.P. Thakur, senior leader Anant Kumar, road construction minister Nand Kishore Yadav, labour resources minister Janardan Singh Sigriwal and MLC Sanjay Jha were also present on the occasion.

Clean-up

Patna: Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar on Wednesday assigned the work of cleaning up the garbage in the state capital to A to Z, a private company hired by the Patna Municipal Corporation. The decision was taken in a review meeting with urban development and housing minister Prem Kumar and Patna Municipal Corporation commissioner Manish Kumar.

Blankets

Patna: Samvedna, a social marketing club of Chandragupt Institute of Management, organised an event distributing blankets among the slum and pavement dwellers to fight the cold. On the occasion, V. Mukunda Das urged the people to take part in such activities.

Cyber warning

Patna: Cyber expert Deepak Kumar has warned users not to download mails or click on pop-up messages. Kumar told the media on Wednesday that social networking sites like Facebook make computers more virus-prone. “One should be careful while downloading anything. Even a mail from the best friend should be treated carefully,” he said.

Save water

Patna: State water resources minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary stressed the need to conserve water and stop its wastage. While inaugurating a University Grants Commission sponsored two-day seminar on Wednesday, he said potable water must be made available to everyone.
