Council election Suicide Norm eased Zoo diktat FIR

Council election

Patna: All 11 candidates, who had filed nomination for the Legislative Council, were declared elected unopposed on Thursday. Prominent among the winners were chief minister Nitish Kumar, his deputy Sushil Kumar Modi and former chief minister Rabri Devi.

Suicide

Patna: Twenty-year-old Rohit Gupta, who had set himself ablaze on Wednesday, succumbed to his injuries at Apollo Burns Hospital on Thursday.

Norm eased

Patna: Candidates wishing to file nominations for the upcoming civic elections can now submit an affidavit approved by circle officer or executive magistrate of their areas in a format issued by the state election commission instead of the certificate issued by registered surveyors.

Zoo diktat

Patna: Patna zoo would be made a polythene-free zone from June 5. The decision was taken in a meeting of environment and forests department.

FIR

Patna: Sambhu Kumar, who had on Wednesday climbed up on the beam of a window on the eighth floor of an apartment on Dakbungalow Road after allegedly being confined to a flat, lodged an FIR against his employers.
