Clerk’s mystery death

Patna: Dharamnath Manjhi, the station house clerk of the Kankerbagh police station, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his house near the police station on Thursday. olice said Manjhi had died of a heart attack. The body has been sent for post-mortem to Patna Medical College and Hospital.

Mishap

Patna: One person died while another was seriously injured when a speeding truck mowed down a biker near Sipara Bridge at 7pm on Thursday. The biker is yet to be identified.

Reply

Patna: The high court on Thursday asked the state government to file its reply on a PIL seeking stay on the ongoing illegal mining of stone in Shankerpur area of Munger district. A division bench comprising Justice Shiva Kirti Singh and Justice Gopal Prasad asked the cabinet and co-ordination department’s principal secretary to file the reply by March 3.

Mobile TV

Patna: Aircel launched its 3G service in the state on Thursday. Viewers can enjoy up to 300 channels on the service. Students will be able to avail of a special discount package priced at Rs 92 for 100MB each month.

Murder

Motihari: A primary co-operative agriculture society secretary Ram Bahadur Sah was shot dead by unidentified criminals near Chaita bridge under the Pakridayal police station on Thursday. Police said they are conducting raids to nab the murderers.

Fair

Motihari: Agriculture scientists interacted with farmers during a kisan mela and seminar at the Krishi Bhavan on Thursday. East Champaran district magistrate Abhijeet Sinha inaugurated the mela.

Bank

Patna: Around 80 non-resident Indians attended a meet organised by the State Bank of India (SBI) on Thursday. SBI Patna circle chief general manager Jeevandas Narayan addressed the meet.
