ICSE exams begin

Patna: Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (Class X) examinations will begin on Monday. It will end on March 31.xaminees will appear for the English language paper on the first day.

Committee

Patna: A three-member committee set up to probe the allegation of Sanskrit question paper leak in the ongoing state board exam admitted the leak. Samastipur district magistrate Kundan Kumar said the committee has submitted its report.

Flight

Patna: Kingfisher Calcutta-Patna-Calcutta evening flight (IT 4579/80) will operate on its old timing from Monday. The flight would take off from Calcutta at 7pm and reach Patna at 8.30pm. It will take off from Patna at 9pm on its return journey.

Request

Patna: The state government has urged the Union finance minister Pranab Mukherjee to reduce the interest rate on agriculture loan from 5 per cent to 3 per cent. Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Sunday said the Centre should reduce the rate for the farmers who pay back loans in time.

Demand

Patna: The government and bank managements should take steps to increase the salaries of bank employees, whose pay is less than central or state government employees, said Harvinder Singh, the national general secretary of Bank of India Officers’ Association Federation on Sunday.

Murder

Motihari: The driver and cleaner of a truck carrying ghee from Anand in Gujarat to Assam, were shot dead by unidentified criminals neat Bathna village on National Highway 28 on Saturday night. The driver has been identified as Rajasthan resident Rawat Ram and the cleaner as Jammu and Kashmir resident Lalu Ram.

Arrest

Patna: Two arms suppliers were arrested and 16 firearms and five magazines were seized during a raid at a hotel in Rohtas district on Sunday. Rohtas superintendent of police Manu Maharaj said acting on a tip-off a police team raided the hotel and nabbed Om Prakash Dinara and Mukul Kumar Bagela.
