Tech test on May 31

Patna: Super 30 will conduct an entrance test to select students for its IIT-JEE coaching programme in the state capital on May 31. he test would be conducted at Bankipore Girls’ High School and forms are available at Kankerbagh, Patliputra and Bhattacharya road branches of United Bank of India and outlets of Gyan Ganga.

Green pledge

Patna: Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, at a function in Delhi on Sunday, underlined the need for full utilisation of potential for scripting the second green revolution in the north-eastern states of the country.

Arrest

Gaya: Uday Bhuian, an alleged Maoist, was arrested on Sunday from Bhaluar Khurd village in Aurangabad district.

Cattle raid

Gopalganj: Police seized two truckloads of cattle being smuggled to Bengal on Saturday night. Six persons were also arrested after raids near Jigna railway crossing.

LJP barbs

Patna: LJP national general secretary Satyanand Sharma and spokesperson Lallan Kumar on Sunday criticised chief minister Nitish Kumar for the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

Lalu flayed

Patna: JD(U) spokesman Sanjay Singh on Sunday slammed RJD chief Lalu Prasad and criticised him for making a mockery over the demand of special category status to Bihar.

Cricket

Patna: Cricket Association of Bihar will organise All India Ramesh Saxena Memorial Cricket tournament from May 19 at Moin-ul-Haq Stadium. Teams from Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Delhi would take part.

Women meet

Bhagalpur: Bihar Agriculture University, Sabour, on Saturday organised a Mahila Choupal (meet of women) to apprise women of scientific agriculture practices so that they could generate self-employment opportunities.
