Death for 3, life for 1

Muzaffarpur: Additional district and sessions judge (III), Muzaffarpur, Arun Kumar Singh awarded capital punishment to three accused and sentenced another to life imprisonment in the Rishib Raj murder case on Friday. he district police expedited the trial of the case of Rishib (4), murdered in Maidapur village under Bochahan police station in 2006. Radhy Shyam Choudhary, Chandan Choudhary and Vinod Choudhary received capital punishment for masterminding the kidnapping and killing of Rishib. Vishwanath Choudhary got a life sentence and was slapped a fine of Rs 1 lakh.

Arrests

Gaya: CRPF jawans and Barachatti police, in a joint operation, recovered 56 detonators, 2m of safety fuse wire and a 9-volt battery used to trigger explosions from Gohi hills on Friday. Three suspected arms smugglers, Mohammad Abid, Sohan Manjhi and Subhash Kumar, were also arrested from Paraia village under same police station.

Condolence

Patna: Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Friday expressed grief at the demise of Rajkumari Jha, wife of former chairman of Bihar Legislative Council Tarakant Jha.

Release

Patna: The planning and development department released a book containing the analysis of budgetary transactions of the state government from 2007-08 to 2011-12 on Friday. Department minister Narendra Narayan Yadav released the book.

Deputy CM

Patna: Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Friday addressed a seminar on Issues of the states related to Goods and Services Taxes at National Law School of India University, Bangalore. Modi said the implementation of the taxes would benefit the central and state governments as well as consumers.
