Power team visit

Patna: A six-member team of Bihar State Electricity Board, led by Vinayak Chandra Gupta, would undertake a three-day visit to Maharashtra from May 24. he board members would study various systems followed by state electricity distribution companies in Maharashtra.

Appearance

Chhapra: Additional public prosecutors at a meeting on Wednesday demanded arrangements for timely appearance of doctors for deposition. Speakers at the meeting alleged that doctors often remained absent in court in cases where their statements are required.

Murder

Siwan: Harelal Chaudhary, a 60-year-old man, was found murdered at Damodara village under Guthni police station on Tuesday night.

Slum fire

Patna: A fire broke out at a slum in the Adalat Ganj area under Kotwali police station on Wednesday noon.

Missing

Patna: A missing report on a brother-sister duo, residents of Punaichak area, was lodged on Wednesday. The duo went missing on May 18.

Life term

Chhapra: The additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday awarded rigorous life imprisonment to Devdhari Rai for raping a minor in 2009.

Lecture invite

Patna: Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi has been invited to deliver a lecture at National Law School of India University, Bangalore.

Camp

Patna: Punjab National Bank held a loan recovery camp at Postal and Telegraph Club on Wednesday in which Rs 1.85 crore was recovered from as many as 105 account holders.
