Patna, April 23: Patna Water Board Employees’ union would go on a two-day token strike on May 10 and 11 to press their 11-point demands, which include redressal of pay anomalies, payment of 16 per cent DA, regularisation of daily wage-earners and others. he decision was taken at a general body meeting of the union chaired by its president Jyoti Gupta. Patna: Teachers and students of different colleges of Magadh University have welcomed vice-chancellor Arvind Kumar’s decision to appoint Ashok Kumar as the university’s liaison officer. Patna: At least six persons were injured when a private jeep hit an autorickshaw near Rajendra Nagar overbridge on Old Bypass Road under Kankerbagh on Saturday. The injured have been admitted to a local private nursing home. Dehri-on-Sone (Rohtas): Yogendra Singh, a sympathiser of Tritiya Prastuti Committee, a splinter group of CPI (Maoist), was shot dead by some men at Kumhla village under Karghar police station in Rohtas district on Saturday. Later, one of the assailants identified as Niral Ram was caught and mercilessly beaten up. Ram later succumbed to his injuries. Sasaram: Rohtas police on Saturday arrested four criminals — Rakesh Kumar, Pintu Kumar, Pintu Paswan and Manohar Bind — from Sasaram bus stand and recovered five country-made pistols and 20 live bombs from their possession. Rohtas superintendent of police Manu Maharaj said the arrested were carrying illegal weapons and explosives for creating disturbances during panchayat elections. Patna: Amit Kumar, alias Ravindra Kumar, nephew of a district transport officer Harihar Prasad, went missing from Patna on Friday. Prasad, a resident of Auragangabad, lodged a complaint with Rupaspur police station in this matter today. Amit had recently shifted to Patna from Aurangabad and was preparing for competitive examinations.
