Light rain forecast

Patna: Weathermen on Tuesday forecast light rainfall in northern and eastern parts of the state in the next 48 hours. est and Central Bihar, including the capital, would receive less rainfall in the same period, said Ashish Sen, director (radar), Patna Met department.

Extra coach

Patna: East Central Railways (ECR) has decided to add an extra coach each in three trains to avoid rush during the month of Shravan. One extra sleeper coach will be attached in Danapur-Howrah Express (12352/12351) and one extra chair car will be attached in both Patna-Howrah Janshatabdi Express (12024/12023) and Patna-Ranchi Janshatabdi Express (12365/12366) from July 4 to August 4.

Exam cancel

Patna: The LLB entrance examination at BN College was cancelled after the Patna University vice-chancellor found two ad-hoc teachers Nitish Kumar Tantan and Gautam Kumar Mahatma helping students adopt unfair means, on Tuesday. The test will be held on July 23.

Arrest

Gaya: Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday arrested Sant Lal, the revenue clerk of Daudnagar circle in Aurangabad, while allegedly accepting Rs 14,000 as bribe from one Ranjit Kumar Singh.

Bail

Patna: A high court division bench comprising Justice T. Meena Kumari and Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh on Tuesday granted bail to Bipin Kumar, an accused in the sexual assault case lodged by Rupam Pathak.

TMBU case

Patna: A high court division bench comprising Chief Justice Rekha M. Doshit and Justice A. Amanullah on Tuesday reserved judgment on an appeal filed by 16 principals of Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University whose appointments were quashed.

Effigy burn

Patna: Bihar Youth Congress workers led by president Lalan Kumar on Tuesday burnt the effigy of chief minister Nitish Kumar to protest against the government’s failure to check the law and order situation.

Seizure

Siwan: Around 1,000 litres of illegal spirit, 1,200 pouches of 400gm each and 18 drums of 200 litres each were seized. Five persons were held.

Buxar: A mob on Tuesday stone-pelted the police and blocked Chaugain Buxar road for more than four hours protesting police inaction in CPI(ML) supporter Jainath Ram’s murder on Monday .

Gaya: A suspected Maoist Nagdeep Yadav was arrested late on Monday evening from Pakri village under Goh police station in Aurangabad. Siwan: One Parshu Ram Yadav from Sahuli village under Hussainganj police station, wanted in cases of murder, loot, kidnapping and attack on police was nabbed.Patna: The state health department on Tuesday made a presentation about its ambitious health coverage proposal before state legislature health committee. The scheme aims at providing health coverage benefits to about 8 lakh present and retired state government employees and their dependent family members. Gopalganj: One Rinku Devi was allegedly burnt to death on Monday night at Navka Tola village under Vijaipur police station for dowry. Gaya: A suspected Maoist Nagdeep Yadav was arrested late on Monday evening from village Pakri under Goh police station in Aurangabad district.
