Power supply drops

Patna: Power allocation to Bihar from the central sector on Wednesday plummeted to 1,046MW against the scheduled allocation of 1,772MW because the generator stopped functioning at units five and six of National Thermal Power Corporation’s Kahalgaon thermal plant. he state has a share of 35MW each from both these units. Kahalgaon unit number five stopped generation on Wednesday and unit-six stopped generation on May 21.

Meeting

Patna: A delegation of the British High Commission on Wednesday met director-general of police Neel Mani and other senior police officials and gathered information about the law and order situation in the state.

Referral

Darbhanga: Three critically ill patients were referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital from Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital for further treatment. The three patients are among nine who were injured in a train accident near Rajnagar station of Madhubani district, which occurred on May 22. Twenty people died in the mishap.

Patna: Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi while inaugurating Krishi Vikas Utsav-2011 said second green revolution is possible in the state because it has fertile land after bifurcation of Jharkhand, which got all mines and minerals in its kitty.

Patna: Bihar Engineering Services Association general secretary Shailesh Kumar on Wednesday demanded the implementation of pay-scale and allowances according to the central government’s pay-scale.

Allegation

Patna: K.J. Kakanwar the joint director of central social welfare board on Wednesday refuted the allegations levelled by Bihar State Social Welfare president Sita Sinha that he appointed 12 people from 2003 to 2006 illegally.
