Power supply cut

Patna: Bihar State Electricity Board on Tuesday announced that there would be a shutdown of the 33KV Danapur feeder on Wednesday from 10am to 2pm. he board would be carrying out urgent maintenance work, board spokesman H.R. Pandey said.

Grief

Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday expressed grief over death of noted surgeon Surya Narayan Mishra, who breathed his last on Monday. Dr Mishra, 80, retired from government service in 1991 and held the post of head of surgery department at Patna Medical College and Hospital.

New role

Patna: Incumbent chief secretary Navin Kumar, set to retire on August 31, will become the director-general, Centre for Good Governance Society after his retirement.

Patna: Atish Chandra, who is posted as secretary to chief minister secretariat, has been appointed as secretary to chief minister Nitish Kumar.

Clash

Patna: Two persons were injured as two groups clashed at Bigrapur area around 12noon on Tuesday over a land dispute. Gunshots were also fired during the clash.

Murder

Sasaram: A tobacco dealer, Prem Sagar Kesari, 40, was shot dead by four assailants, who were travelling in a car near Samdiha petrol outlet on Sasaram-Buxar road on Tuesday. The incident occurred when Kesari was going to Tarachandi in Rohtas district from Buxar in a pick-up van.
