Araria firing report

Patna: The National Commission for Minorities has taken strong exception to the police firing in Araria on June 3 in which four persons, including a woman and her child, were killed. he commission has sought a detailed report from the government within a week. Meanwhile, RJD and LJP leaders met Governor Devanand Konwar on Wednesday.

Maoists held

Munger: Three Maoists -Satyendra Yadav and Surendra Mehta from Aurangabad and Amrendra Kumar Yadav from Banka were nabbed on Wednesday.

Reinstated

Patna: Patna University on Wednesday revoked the dismissal of Asim Lal Chakraborty, who was dismissed by the university administration for his alleged involvement in BCA scam.

Conviction

Patna: Fast-track courts convicted 5,654 persons in the state between January and May this year. Bihar director-general of police Neel Mani said 61,810 persons have been convicted in the state since January 2006.

Suicide

Siwan: Noor Jannat (22), committed suicide on Tuesday night along with her one-and-half-year-old daughter Roshan. Meanwhile, in Chhapra, Virendra Sharma allegedly took his life by jumping into a well in Gopeshwar nagar mohalla.
