Deputy CM directive

Patna: Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Wednesday directed co-operative department officials to ensure the construction of one godown in each of the 8,463 primary agricultural credit societies. e issued this directive during a review meeting of the co-operative department.

Arrest

Patna: Bhupat Ahir, a gangster wanted by Gujarat and Maharashtra police, was arrested from Bhojpur along with his accomplice Krishna Mohan Ojha on Wednesday. A countrymade pistol and three live cartridges were found from him. Two other aides, Chunnu Choubey and Sampat Yadav, managed to escape.

Bypoll

Patna: Notification for Purnea Assembly seat bypoll was issued on Wednesday. The voting would be held on June 25.

Tax camp

Patna: The commercial taxes department held special registration camps at its offices for all circles on Wednesday for registration of small traders, which will continue till June 5.

Visit

Patna: Inspector-general (prisons) Anand Kishore visited Gopalganj district jail on Wednesday to review the situation arising out of the murder of a jail doctor Budhdeo Singh by a group of jail inmates on Sunday.

MLA son

Patna: Rahul Kumar, the son of Bakhari MLA (Begusarai) Ramanand Ram, went missing on Wednesday from Patna.

Meeting

Bagaha: West Champaran district magistrate Shridhar C. on Wednesday held a meeting on border dispute between two states (Bihar and Uttar Pradesh) with his Kushinagar counterpart.

Murder case

Patna: Special CBI judicial magistrate, Patna, Krishna Kumar on Wednesday directed to send the record in connection with BJP Purnea MLA Rajkishore Keshari murder case to Patna district and sessions judge for further trial.
