Rs 977 for LPG at home

Patna: Domestic consumers in the state will have to pay Rs 977 for non-subsidised 14.2kg cooking gas cylinder, said sources in oil companies. ustomers buying non-subsidised LPG cylinder in October would have to pay additional Rs 557 for every non-subsidised cylinder. At present, customers pay Rs 420 for every subsidised cylinder. The price for non-subsidised LPG cylinders fluctuates every month because of international market price, as 90 per cent of LPG is imported. The price for non-subsidised LPG cylinders was Rs 701 and Rs 767 in August and September respectively.

Shastri tribute

Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy, Sushil Kumar Modi, on Tuesday paid tribute to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his 108th birth anniversary at Shastri Nagar park on Tuesday.

Temple heist

Sasaram: Criminals damaged an idol of goddess Kali at Khilanganj under the jurisdiction of Sasaram Town police station in Rohtas and ran away with six eyes made of gold late on Monday night.

Maoist raid

Patna: At least two walkie-talkie sets and detonators were seized during a joint operation of police and central paramilitary force against Maoists in Chakarbandha hills in Gaya on Tuesday.

Kidnap rescue

Patna: Four-year-old Sudhanshu Kumar was recovered from Jamalpur-Barhara road on Tuesday after being kidnapped for ransom on Monday. His father, Kamal Kishore Choudhary, is a maize dealer in Khagaria.

Cop firing

Dumraon: Abhay Sharma, a sub-inspector with Dumraon police station in Buxar, allegedly opened fire in a temple on Monday evening. Sources alleged that he was inebriated. No one was injured.

Complaint

Buxar: Dumraon resident Manoj Kumar Tiwary has lodged a complaint with police alleging that a local MLA, Dawood Ali, had directed Rs 80,000 worth of sheesham to be moved from the block premises.
