Nabard nod to loans

Patna: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned a loan of Rs 50.56 crore to the government of Bihar under XVII tranche of Rural Infrastructure Development Fund for completion of nine high-level rural bridge projects. hese projects are being implemented by the road construction and rural works departments.

Contempt case

Patna: A bench of Justice Navin Sinha of the high court on Monday directed district education officer, Patna and regional deputy director of education, Patna to appear in person on July 27 in a contempt case. Mina Gupta, a teacher of Narayani Girls High School, had lodged a contempt case for allegedly deducting increment thrice despite the court’s order to restore the increment.

Shravani train

Patna: East Central Railway has introduced Shravani Mela Special Train for devotees going to Deoghar to attend Shravan mela. It will run from July 18 to August 16 thrice a week on Monday, Tuesday and Saturday. Train number 03503 Asansol-Patna will depart from Asansol at 1.20pm and will reach Patna at 8.15pm.

Accident

Gopalganj: One Mohan Singh (15) of Pithauri village died on Monday when the auto in which he was travelling overturned near Gopalganj bus stand.

Water release

Gopalganj: The pressure of Gandak at Semaria Sarfara, Patahra and Pathan patti has increased following discharge of 2.14 lakh cusec water on Monday evening from Balmiki Nagar barrage.

Threat

Patna: A2Z Infrastructure Pvt Ltd has again threatened to stop waste collection in three to four days time as Patna Municipal Corporation is yet to clear their dues.

Correction

The caption in the article Youth fillip to organic farming, published in the July 18 edition of The Telegraph, was incorrect. The caption should have been in the reverse order— Vikas, Siddharth and Abhishek. The error is regretted.
