Modi slams Centre

Patna: Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi has charged the Union government with not providing necessary assistance in terms of provision of loans to people under Prime Minister Employment Generation Scheme. odi said according to the programme, the banks have to provide Rs 87.6 crore as loan but only Rs 32.7 crore has been spent.

Acquittal

Patna: A bench of justice D.D. Jha of the high court on Thursday acquitted Hare Ram Singh and Sudhir Singh in connection with the murder of Rupauli JD (U) MLA Bima Bharti's father and mother in-law in 2004.

Fake notes

Ara: Two persons, Bhadri Singh and Shashi Bhushan Singh, were arrested from Bihiya police station area and fake currency notes worth Rs 25,000 were seized from them on Thursday.

Motihari: A Special Task Force personnel arrested two persons and recovered two rifles and one carbine during a raid at Chatia village under Malahi police station on Thursday.
