Patna: The police have sounded an alert in the capital in the wake of the serial blasts in Mumbai on Wednesday evening. ity superintendent of police Shivdeep Lande said all the police station house officers of the capital have been asked to visit the sensitive areas under their jurisdiction along with their team. Suspicious persons are to be stopped and questioned.

Constable

Patna: A division bench of justices Shiva Kirti Singh and Ravi Ranjan of Patna High Court on Wednesday asked the state government to appoint 3,500 candidates whose names figured on the merit list of 5,700 posts for constable.

Meet

Patna: Deputy chief minister Sushil Modi on Wednesday announced that members of primary agriculture co-operatives (PACs) would not be given loans directly by district co-operative banks. All such loans would be channelised through PACs in the state.

Patna: A high-level meeting on issues related to implementation of various government schemes in the banking sector would be organised on July 15 under the chairmanship of deputy chief minister Sushil Modi. Senior officials of districts and banks would take part in the meeting.

Mishap

Gopalganj: A youth died and two others received injuries when a speeding vehicle collided with a motorcycle and then a rickshaw on Wednesday on NH 85 near Shabnam Hotel under Gopalganj police station. Sources said Shahid Raza, 22, a resident of Bedu Toal village died on his way to a hospital Gorakhpur.

Appointment

Patna: The way for the appointment of 34,540 primary school teachers has been cleared, as the division bench of Supreme Court comprising Justice Altamas Kabir and Justice G.S. Dattu has accepted the list prepared by special officer S.K. Chakaroborty.
