Toll tax blame

Purnea, Dec.29: Six National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) employees were detained during a police raid on the charge of collecting toll tax illegally on the NH-31 stretch passing through the Maranga area. raria superintendent of police, who is in-charge of Purnea, Shivdeep Lande said the raid was carried out on the basis of a letter from the NHAI.

Shot dead

Patna: The body of 25-year-old cable operator Sonu Kumar was found near the Danapur police station around 4am on Saturday. He was shot dead. An FIR has been lodged against four named accused and two unidentified persons.

Fake notes

Patna: Sleuths of the directorate of revenue intelligence arrested Ganesh Sahni, a resident of East Champaran district, on Saturday and seized fake Indian currency with face value of Rs 3.98 lakh.

Jail escape

Buxar: An inmate of Buxar open jail on Saturday escaped from the prison on the pretext of going to market according to schedule. Jail superintendent S.K. Ambastha said Gabbar Sahni, who was facing a life term for murder, was brought from the Bhagalpur jail on December 25.
