Patna: A contempt petition was filed in the high court against the chancellor of universities, Devanand Konwar, for allegedly violating its order quashing appointment of six VCs and four pro-VCs of various universities. The petition was filed by Ram Tawakya Singh through counsel Sunil Kumar Singh.Though the chancellor has power to appoint any person as acting VC as an interim measure, he has appointed all those six VCs whose appointments were quashed after being held illegal by the court,” Singh said.
