Patna: Five IPS officers were on Friday given new postings in a minor reshuffle in the Bihar police department. ccording to the notification, senior IPS officer and an assistant (welfare) to the inspector-general of police H.N. Deva has been transferred and made superintendent of police at the State Crime Record Bureau. M. Sunil Nayak, a 2005 batch officer awaiting posting, has replaced Deva as the assistant (welfare) to the inspector-general of police. Harpreet Kaur, a 2009 batch IPS officer has been made the assistant superintendent of police of Bhabhua. Saurabh Sah and Pushkar Anand have been made assistant superintendents of police of Barh and Jamui respectively. Gaya: Two motorcycle borne criminals on Friday snatched Rs 2.5 lakh from Champa Devi of Maunia village of the district. Interestingly, the incident occurred right in front of the main gate of the campus in which the offices of Magadh division commissioner andthe range deputy inspector of general are housed. Patna: St Xavier’s College of Education organised a seminar on the importance of audio-visual aids for its BEd prospective teachers on Friday. The seminar was organized to give a vision to the future teachers to incorporate innovative techniques in their teaching.Patna: The fair price shops of any two panchayats of Phulwari block in Patna district would be computerised in a pilot project which aims to computerize the system of goods distribution from these shops. A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of food and consumer protection department held on Friday. Department minister Shyam Rajak said that the said system would help in speedy delivery of information to the district headquarters. Gopalganj: One Sima Devi (25) on Friday committed suicide with her two-year-old daughter at Manjha Nai Bazar under Manjha police station. Sources said the lady burnt herself and her daughter to death. Her husband Raj Kumar Pintu was arrested.
