School timing change

Patna: The district administration has directed all schools in the capital to resume their usual timings from Monday. n the wake of cold wave conditions in Patna, the administration had directed the schools to start the morning schedule from 9am. The administration has asked the schools to inform students about the timing change.

Scholarship

Patna: Patna University would distribute scholarship cheques to 10 MSc first semester students of botany, zoology and biotechnology on Tuesday under the department of biotechnology-interdisciplinary programme of life sciences for advanced research and education. Under the scheme, Rs 3,000 per month would be given to 10 “exceptional” students of botany, zoology and biotechnology every year.

Gala fest

Patna: International School (CBSE and ICSE wings) celebrated its first annual gala fest on Sunday. Justice S.N. Hussain inaugurated the fest. He released the 10th edition of the school magazine and also released pigeons as a mark of peace.

Annual day

Patna: AVN School, Patliputra Colony, on Sunday celebrated its annual festival at Patliputra Community Hall. The chief guest was deputy inspector-general Sunil Kumar. On the occasion, the students of the school presented a cultural programme.

Status cry

Patna: Office-bearers of Bharatiya Jan Lokpal Party demanded special-status tag for Bihar at a meeting. Party national president Radheshyam Gupta said Bihar fulfils all criteria of the status.

Death

Patna: CIMP suffered a major loss with the death of professor Vyuptakesh Sharan, on Sunday afternoon.
