Unwell after meal

Bhagalpur: Around 24 students of a middle school at Bahatarra village in Bhagalpur’s Naugachia sub-division allegedly fell sick on Friday after their midday meal. he children started to vomit soon after their meal. A special medical team, which treated them at a primary health centre, brought the situation under control.

Rabri case

Patna: The high court on Friday quashed cognisance taken by a lower court against former chief minister Rabri Devi in a case of violation of the model code of conduct in the 2005 Assembly polls.

Truck fire

Aurangabad: Sixty-five motorcycles were burnt when a truck in which the vehicles were being transported to Munger caught fire near Dadhati village on National Highway 2 early on Friday morning. The truck’s driver and cleaner escaped unhurt.

Katihar: The district magistrate of Katihar, Prakash Kumar, on Friday set up a three-member committee to investigate into the purchase of solar lights by village heads and panchayat sevaks in violation of guidelines.

Arrest

Samastipur: Araria police on Friday caught former Sadar block development officer Nagendra Paswan from his residence at Hassinchak for his alleged involvement in the embezzlement of Rs 2 crore meant for the construction of anganwadi centres.
