Patna, Aug. 27: The floods in the state claimed 15 more lives today with the death toll reaching 70.o death was reported on Tuesday when the toll remained 55. However today, two more districts — Nawada and Samastipur — got inundated. With the new addition, the total number of districts affected by the flood has risen to 19. Out of 15 deaths, seven were reported from Sheikhpura and eight from Nawada district. Disaster management department special secretary Anirudh Kumar said the number of people affected by the flood has also risen from 18.3 lakh to 19 lakh. Patna: Bihar Medical Services and Infrastructure Corporation Limited, a wing of the health department, invited a deceased to a government function on Wednesday. The corporation published an advertisement in a vernacular daily on Wednesday in which it mentioned late MLC Virkeshwar Prasad Singh in place of invitee’s name. The advertisement was related to the bhoomi pujan function of a land at Madhepura where a new medical college has to be set up.
