Minor raped in field

Nawada (PTI): A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man after he lured her into a field on the outskirts of Nepura village in the district by offering her chocolates, said superintendent of police Manavjeet Singh Dhillon.n hearing the child’s cries for help, villagers rushed the spot and rescued her. She was taken to Sadar hospital and later shifted to Patna Medical College and Hospital. The accused was arrested from his house, Dhillon said.

Burnt to death

Motihari (PTI): A woman and her two daughters were charred to death in a fire at her home in Manguahi Murshidabad village on Saturday night. Police said the fire broke out in the kitchen of the house and trapped the woman and her two daughters, aged three and one respectively.

Buried alive

Samastipur (PTI): Two youths — identified as Raushan Paswan (12) and Preeti Kumari (14) — were buried alive on Sunday while digging at Baluaha village. A chunk of earth caved in on them and buried them, said superintendent of police Varun Kumar Sinha. Their bodies were handed over to their families.

Varsity design

New Delhi (PTI): The results of the Nalanda University architectural design competition would be declared on Monday. One out of eight global firms/conglomerates would be chosen, said Meghnad Desai, a member of the university governing body.

Road scheme

New Delhi (PTI): The Centre has come out with the Phase II of Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana, and Bihar, with 2,465km roads in its rural areas, would be one of the states benefiting from the scheme.
