Trader shot dead

Muzaffarpur: Three criminals shot dead a foodgrain trader, Raju Kumar, in Jogia Muth area of town police station and fled. probe is on but no arrests have been made yet. Traders of Jogia Muth, Company Bagh and Sutapatti downed shutters in protest.

Metro MoU

Patna: The MoU for feasibility study and preparation of detailed project report (DPR) for Patna Metro was signed between RITES director (projects) Arbind Kumar and urban development and housing development secretary S. Siddharth on Monday. Feasibility report will be submitted in September and final DPR in December.

Power supply

Patna: Kadamkuan, Exhibition Road and Gandhi Maidan areas would witness smooth and quality power supply following installation of 10MVA power transformer at 33/11 KV Sahitya Sammelan Power Sub-Station, Patna Electric Supply Undertaking (west) superintending engineer Dilip Kumar Singh said.

Literacy

Patna: Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee spokesman Vinod Sharma said the state unit has directed party leaders and workers to observe party vice president Rahul Gandhi’s birthday (June 19) as “Girls Literacy Day” in the district headquarters.

Booth panel

Patna: Bihar Pradesh Congress spokesperson Vinod Sharma said a meeting of booth coordination committee was held at the party’s state headquarters under the chairmanship of Jagannath Rai, the ex-legislator.

Convention

Patna: Bihar Rajya Kisan Sabha has urged farmers to take part in the national convention of Swami Sahjanand Vichar Manch to be organised at Jehanabad on June 26 and 27. The organisation’s general secretary and former MLA Satyanarayan Singh on Monday said several leaders including, CPI senior leader A.B. Bardhan, would address the convention.
