Patna: All India Congress Committee general secretary and the party’s state unit in-charge C.P. Joshi and four other leaders will be coming to Bihar on June 29. arty sources said on Sunday that on the day of his arrival, Joshi would take part in a programme and interact with the district and block unit heads of the party. Sitting and former MPs and MLAs of the party have also been invited to take part in the programme. Congress state unit president Ashok Kumar Choudhary on Sunday held a meeting at the party headquarters to discuss the details of the programme.

Donation

Patna: Four state Congress MLAs have decided to donate their month’s salary of Rs 43,000 each to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for helping people of Uttarakhand who are facing nature’s fury. Sources on Sunday said the MLAs took the decision in the wake of party national president Sonia Gandhi appeal to come forward to help the people of Uttarakhand.

Safety note

Patna: Water resources department sources on Sunday said the embankments in the state are safe and in good shape. It also gave details of the water levels at rivers in Bihar and rainfall in the catchment areas of these rivers in Nepal.

Entrance test

Patna: Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination for admission into engineering and medical colleges was held across the state on Sunday. Based on the exam scores, students will be admitted into engineering, ayurvedic and homeopathy colleges in the state.

Encephalitis

Patna: Muzaffarpur district civil surgeon Gyan Bhushan on Sunday said around 153 cases of encephalitis have been registered in the district of which 55 people died.

Drug boost

Patna: Patna Medical College and Hospital superintendent Amar Kant Jha Amar said the number of drugs in the outpatient department of the health hub has increased from four to 28. He said six months ago there were only four drugs available in the outpatient department.
