Tech cradle entry

Patna: Birla Institute of Technology, Patna, on Thursday released the list of names of candidates who have been shortlisted for admission to the newly launched undergraduate courses. The shortlisted applicants are required to report for document verification-cum-admission on any working day by July 11.

River banks

Patna: All embankments in Bihar are in good shape, a government press release stated on Thursday. Sources in the water resources department said increased flow of water in a few north Bihar rivers had led to increased pressure on embankments but field officers were camping to ensure their safety.

Canal report

Patna: A high court division bench comprising Justice Navin Sinha and Justice Vikash Jain has sought a report within two weeks from the state government on the status of flow of water in a canal under the jurisdiction of Jagdishpur block in Bhagalpur district.

Food bill

Patna: The BJP on Thursday criticised the Centre for implementing the food security bill through ordinance. Party spokesperson Suresh Rungta said: “Though the BJP had assured the Congress of supporting the bill, the party appeared to be in haste. That is why it chose the ordinance route, which indicates that the Congress was planning to conduct general elections before schedule.”
