Arms haul

Gaya: Police have seized huge quantity of arms and ammunition and explosives from the forests of Jamuna, Malma and Kuswa near Dumri village under the jurisdiction of Bankebazaar police station since Friday evening. wo suspected Maoists were also arrested during the search operation. An AK-47 rifle, a double-barrel gun, a regular rifle, 15 cartridges, 127 pipe bombs, six pressure-cooker bombs, 14 detonators and others were recovered.

Accident

Katihar: A six-year-old boy, Baban Kumar, died and five others were injured when a truck ran over them at Uchhad village on Sunday.

Arrest

Patna: A criminal, Ajit Kumar alias Aditya, was arrested on Sunday for his alleged involvement in three cases of robbery.

Death

Biharsharif (PTI): A man was lynched by a mob after he allegedly shot a 12-year-old boy in Nalanda district. The boy, Deepak, was shot dead by Rajiv Thakur on Saturday night following a dispute.

Raid

Patna: A joint team of district police and administrative officials conducted a raid at Sitamarhi jail on Sunday and seized over a dozen cellphones and other objectionable articles. The raid was conducted after the police received information that criminals lodged in the jail would make extortion calls to the members of the trading community.

Dental camp

Patna: The Indian Red Cross Society organised a dental check-up camp for children on the Raj Bhavan premises on Sunday. Around 529 children took part in the camp. Governor’s wife Pushplata D. Patil inaugurated the event.
