Patna, Sept. 18 (PTI): Accepting the family’s demand, the Bihar government today recommended a CBI inquiry into the kidnapping of a young girl, Navruna, from Muzaffarpur a year ago. hrough a notification, the home department, sent a request to the CBI to take over the Navruna case for a probe. The 12-year-old girl, a Class VII student of St Xavier’s Public School in Muzaffarpur, had gone missing from her house in Ghirnipokhar locality under the jurisdiction of Town police station on September 18, 2012. The state government had ordered a CID probe in the matter, but no headway in the probe could be made as Navruna’s parents refused to co-operate with investigation and provide blood sample for DNA test to match the same with the corpse of a girl, which was said to be of the same age as that of the missing girl.Patna: The police have given a month’s time to autorickshaw drivers of the state capital to get the police unique identification numbers fitted on their vehicles. The move comes after the police nabbed two men, one of them an autorickshaw driver, in connection with a murder case. Patna: The police on Wednesday nabbed two persons, who were involved in theft and loot incidents in and around the city. Based on a tip-off, the duo were arrested from the Patliputra police station area. The police said both of them were involved in serious cases.Motihari: At least five passengers were killed on the spot and over a dozen suffered injuries when a bus carrying them from Motihari to Raxaul via Adapur, around 170km north of Patna, jumped off the road and fell in a 20ft ditch.Patna: The rural development department has brought about certain changes in the existing rules to pave the way for the appointment of computer operators, accountants, junior engineers, panchayat technical assistants and panchayat rojgar sevaks to accelerate the works being carried out under MGNREGA scheme.
