Goon in net with ammo

Patna: Police claimed to have nabbed Dhananjay Kumar, a hardcore criminal who was planning a robbery with his associates, on Tuesday late evening. he criminals had gathered near Bakhtar Baba Sthan area when a team of cops nabbed him. A country-made pistol and three live cartridges were recovered from him.

Licence order

Patna: District magistrate N. Saravana Kumar on Wednesday issued directives, which said anyone willing to sell crackers would have to procure licence by submitting an application in the prescribed format.

Cheque aid

Patna: Patna district magistrate N. Saravana Kumar handed over a cheque of Rs 10 lakh to Mehrunima Khan, the widow of one Masud Khan. The deceased was posted in Saran district and used to work for the police.

Murder case

Patna: One Vicky alias Vikram was arrested for the murder of one Subodh Kumar, a resident of ward number 7 of Doctors’ Colony under the jurisdiction of Mokama police station. The man was shot dead on the night of October 21. A country-made pistol and a cartridge were recovered from him.

Review

Patna: Chief secretary A.K. Sinha on Wednesday chaired a review meeting in which he assessed the progress in various government schemes. He interacted with all district magistrates through video-conferencing. He also directed divisional commissioners and district magistrates to undertake field visits.

Project funds

Patna: The state government has sanctioned funds of Rs 12.9 lakh and Rs 9 lakh for Nawada Ratansarai and Sirsai Premnagar projects, respectively. An official press note on Wednesday said the chief engineer of water resources department in Siwan would be the controlling officer for execution of the projects.

Criminal held

Patna: One Dharmveer Yadav was arrested late on Tuesday evening while planning a loot with his gang. He was arrested from the Sahran area.

Polio play

Patna: Rotary Patna would stage a street play to generate awareness on polio. A Rotary Patna press note on Wednesday said the play would be staged on Thursday.

Party switch

Patna: A large number of JD(U) leaders, including Laxmi Narayan Singh, joined the BJP on Wednesday.

Applications

Patna: The Raj Bhavan received 1,600 applications for post of vice-chancellor and pro-vice-chancellors on Wednesday — the last date for making applications.
