Patna: The members of Chhatra Samagam, who were sitting on an indefinite hunger strike in support of their demands to the Magadh University administration, called off their protest on Thursday after the varsity accepted most of their demands. ne of demands accepted by the Magadh University administration was the issuance of marksheets from colleges, affiliated to the university, in Patna.

Conference

Gaya: The 10th national conference of the All India Democratic Women’s Association will begin on Friday at the examination hall of Magadh University, Bodhgaya. Participants at the five-day event will discuss means to stop atrocities against women and put pressure on the government and rights of women among others. A rally was organised at Gaya’s Azad Park in support of the event. CPM leaders Subhashini Ali and Brinda Karat attended the rally.

Doctors’ strike

Gaya: The proposed strike by doctors of Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital from Thursday has been postponed by a week. he decision came after district magistrate Balamurugan D. and senior superintendent of police Nishant Kumar Tiwari assured that legal action would be taken against Gaya Municipal Corporation mayor Vibha Devi and her husband, Indradev Yadav.

Ammo catch

Gaya: Three suspected Maoists were arrested and a huge cache of arms and ammunition were recovered during a combing operation at Baratand village in Gaya district early on Thursday.
