Goons shoot at man

Patna: One person was shot at by criminals on Friday evening. he incident occurred near Chitkohra Bridge around 7.30pm. He was rushed to Patna Medical College and Hospital.

Maoists held

Patna: Two rebels, Surendra Mehta and Satyendra Choudhary, were arrested from Aurangabad on Friday.

Terror release

Patna: The National Investigation Agency on Friday pasted photographs and other details about 15 absconding Indian Mujahideen operatives suspected to be involved in serial blasts in Patna and Bodhgaya.

Train injuries

Patna: Four railway employees suffered burn injuries when the engine of a goods train caught fire on Barsoi-Mukhuria section of Katihar railway division late on Thursday night.

Passport meet

Buxar: A huge quantity of opium was confiscated from a village on Friday and three persons were arrested after raids.

Threat to jailer

Ara: Ara jail superintendent Lalan Prasad Sinha has asked for help from the district police after Maoists allegedly demanded extortion money from him. Ara: Residents of Sankat Mochan locality disrupted traffic for hours in protest against the police’s failure to recover one Janardan Prasad’s three-year old child Saurav. The boy has been missing from near his residence since Thursday evening. The blockade was lifted after police intervention.

Health tests

Patna: HelpAge India, in association with Power Grid Corporation of India, has set up a pathology unit at Patliputra Colony for providing the elderly free tests.

Kid cards

Patna: Birla Institute of Technology, Patna, along with National Service Scheme (NSS), will organise a card-making workshop for underprivileged children on Saturday. Around 50 children from the slums near the institution will be taught to make greeting cards.

Conference

Patna: The department of computer science of Central University of Bihar has set December 15 as the deadline to submit papers for a conference on trends in computer science and engineering to be held next year.

Highway mishap

Motihari (PTI): Four persons were killed and six others were injured when a bus rammed into a pick-up van at Mahua village on NH28 in the early hours on Friday. he deceased were identified as Dhanraj Ram (35), Bachan Rai (55), Lalbabu Ram (30) and Arbind Kumar (12).

Athlete

Gaya: Athlete Ashwani Raj was released from Jehanabad sadar hospital on Friday. She was allegedly assaulted on the Jehenabad railway station premises on Wednesday. No further arrests have been made in the case.
