Special trains

Patna: East Central Railway on Thursday announced three special trains for Sonepur Fair from November 16 to 19.wo of these trains would run from Sonepur to Chhapra and to Muzaffarpur.

Dharna

Patna: BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi would sit on a dharna outside the Vaishali collectorate in Hajipur on November 19 to protest against recent incidents of rape and murder.

Bail granted

Patna: The high court on Thursday granted bail to one Ritlal Yadav, accused of killing Satya Narayan Sinha, husband of Danapur BJP MLA Asha Devi.

Bank manager

Patna: Rakesh Sharma (in picture) has taken over as the chief general manager of the Patna circle of State Bank of India.

Muharram

Patna: Police on Thursday said they were prepared for Muharram. Additional forces have been deployed to patrol sensitive areas on Friday the first day of Muharram.

Accusation

Patna: Power Engineering Service Association spokesperson B.L. Yadav criticised the government for not paying gratuity of Rs 10 lakh to the power company employees.

Pay I-T dues in banks

Patna: The Reserve Bank of India has authorised select branches of few banks in the city to cater to the rush of people depositing income tax (I-T) dues. n RBI press note on Thursday said Central Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India, United Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Canara Bank, Union Bank and Corporation Bank have been authorised for the purpose.

New ATM

Patna: The 65th ATM of Union Bank of India in the Patna region became functional on Thursday at St Stephen’s School on Madiri Main Road.

Review

Patna: Canara Bank executive director Pradyuman Singh Rawat reviewed the bank’s performance during a daylong visit to the city on Thursday. He also reviewed the expansion of direct and indirect banking channels in the state.

Tributes

Patna: Rich tributes were paid to former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on his birth anniversary on Thursday. Governor D.Y. Patil and chief minister Nitish Kumar garlanded his statue at a state function.
