Power service shift

Patna: Essel Vidyut Vitaran (Muzaffarpur) Ltd, an Essel Group company, has taken over the job of distribution franchisee of Muzaffarpur from Bihar State Power (Holding) Company Ltd on Friday. .K. Singh, the chief engineer (commercial) of North Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd and Manish Aggarwal, the chief operating officer of Essel Utilities, Mumbai, exchanged the documents in the presence of energy minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav and other top officials.

Auto loan

Patna: Patna District Autorickshaw Drivers’ Association played an active role in getting loan sanctioned for the purchase of autos for nine persons including three women.

Bail grant

Patna: A high court bench of Justice Akhilesh Chandra on Friday granted anticipatory bail to Abhay Pandey, one of the main suspects involved in the killing of former Ranvir Sena chief Brahmeshwar Mukhiya.

Patna: Actor and Patna Sahib MP Shatrughan Sinha on Friday underlined the importance of blood donation. He was addressing participants at a blood donation camp.

Diwali, Chhath timings

Patna, Nov. 1: On the occasion of Diwali and Chhath — November 3 and 8 — all railway reservation counters will remain closed from 2pm to 8pm, stated an East Central Railway notification.

Patna: The vigilance department on Friday organised a seminar as part of the Vigilance Awareness Week. Department principal secretary S.K. Negi asked officials to strive to bring integrity in all spheres of their activities.

Arrest reward

Patna: The home department on Friday announced rewards of Rs 3 to 5 lakh for the arrest of Arvind Kumar Singh of Jehanabad, Vijay Yadav of Gaya, Shivshankar Dhobi of Aurangabad, Chirag and Paresh of Jamui, Ram Babu Ram of Motihari and two others.
