Maoist duo in cop net

Patna (PTI): Two Maoists were arrested on Sunday from different localities of Patna district, a police officer said. cting on a tip-off, the cops arrested the two rebels identified as Gurudev Yadav and Sunil Kahar alias Tiger from Imamganj and Siguri localities, respectively, Paliganj police station officer-in-charge Nasim Ahmed said. Yadav was said to be an area commander of the proscribed outfit, while Kahar was its zonal commander, he said..

Patna: Madhuresh Kumar, the general manager of East Central Railway, on Sunday laid the foundation stone of a multi-purpose complex at Digha Ghat. He said the railway was developing a colony for its officers.

Patna: Tariq Anwar Vichar Manch on Sunday criticised the move of the state government to take action against traders. Manch leader Mohammed Zakir Hussain claimed the officials of commercial taxes department were taking action against traders to hide their failures.

More milk pay

Patna: Bihar State Milk Cooperative Federation Limited has decided to pay more to farmers who supply milk to it. ffective from December 1, the farmers would get an additional Rs 2 for every litre of cow milk and Rs 2.50 for every litre of buffalo milk, a federation press note said.

Dacoits held

Madhubani (PTI): Five dacoits — Mohammad Jahangir, Manoj Yadav, Ramsevak Mandal, Prem Mandal and Mahendra Mandal — were arrested on Sunday with a rifle from several villages in Madhubani district in connection with a robbery four days ago.

Docs mishap

Patna: Two doctors of Narayan Medical College and Hospital in Dehri-on-Sone, Ashok Kumar and Ashish Kumar Tripathy, were run over by a truck near Jamuhar village in Rohtas district late on Saturday night. While Ashok died on the spot, Tripathy suffered serious injuries.

Eye camp

round 50 patients underwent cataract operation at a free eye camp organised by Drishti Eye & Research Centre at Kankerbagh on Sunday. The camp got financial assistance from Rotary Patna Mid Town and Bihar Medical Graduate Trust.

Patna: A police team from Delhi arrested Shashi Shekhar Thakur and his brother Mukul Thakur from Muzaffarpur in connection with a sexual assault case lodged with the Connaught Place police station in the national capital.

Patna: A mob ransacked shops and business establishments after a carpenter, Anil Kumar, was crushed to death by a truck near Khija Imali on Sunday evening.
