Gopalganj: Armed criminals robbed a fertiliser trader, Raghuvar Prasad, of Rs 1.36 lakh after stabbing him in the Chhapra Thawe passenger train on Saturday night before it reached Manjha station. rasad, who had boarded the train at Sidhwalia station, informed about the incident to Thawe Government Railway Police.

Rape bid

Siwan: A villager allegedly tried to rape a teenaged girl at a temple at Sinhota village on Sunday. The girl has lodged an FIR naming a fellow villager in this connection.

Mill attack

Patna: BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi alleged that around 3,000 rice mills in Bihar are on the verge of closure owing to the wrong policies of the Nitish government.

Patna: A 16-year-old boy, missing from Nagpur in Maharashtra, was recovered from a hotel on the Exhibition Road area on Sunday.

Patna: The Jakkanpur police seized many applications meant for railway recruitment examination in Chandigarh, from a ditch at the Karbigahiya end of Patna Railway Junction on Sunday.

Doctors’ service

Patna: Members of Bihar Health Services Association on Sunday demanded that the state government intervene in regularisation of services of contract doctors. ources said recently the health department took the decision that contract doctors would be regularised only through walk-in interviews and they would not have to take written examination for the same.

Green drive

Patna: Gandhi Maidan Bachao Abhiyaan Members on Sunday gathered to discuss how to save the greens. The members alleged that the ground was neglected by the district administration.

Patna: The All India Backward Classes Federation held a meeting of its executive committee on Sunday and decided to back the UPA in Lok Sabha polls. The meeting was chaired by federation’s president Indra Kumar Singh Chandapuri.

Ground debate

Patna: BJP state president Mangal Pandey alleged that the Muzaffapur administration had allotted a small ground for Narendra Modi’s public meeting on March 3. e also alleged that the decision of the administration was at the behest of chief minister Nitish Kumar. He said if any untoward incident happened during the meeting, the onus would be on Nitish Kumar.

Patna: Azharuddin, a resident of Bengal, was arrested on Sunday in connection with the abduction of a fish dealer, Mukesh Kumar Mukhiya, in Supaul on Wednesday.
