Patna: The BJP on Thursday named its three candidates for the Legislative Council’s biennial election on March 20. The media in-charge, Rakesh Kumar Singh, said the party had decided to field Sanjay Mayukh, Suraj Nandan Kushwaha and Krishna Kumar Singh as its candidates.

Irma feat

Patna: The Institute of Rural Management-Anand has shortlisted five candidates from the students’ guidance centre of Chandragupt Institute of Management, Patna.

Jail sentence

Siwan: A fast track court judge, O.P. Singh, on Thursday awarded seven-year imprisonment to five persons for beating a person to death in 2002.

Shot dead

Patna: Ram Kishore Kushwaha, the owner of a hotel in Sitamarhi, was shot dead late on Wednesday night. Demanding arrest of the murderers, residents blocked the National Highway 77 for over three hours.

Police meet

Patna: Inspector-general of police (Nepal) Upendra Kanta Aryal held a meeting with DGP Abhayanand and the SPs of the eight districts on the India-Nepal border in Patna on Thursday.
