Patna: The Central University of Bihar extended the last date for receiving online and offline applications for CUBET (Central University of ihar Entrance Test), 2014, to 5pm on May 3. he earlier deadline was April 25.

Terror case

Patna: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday filed a chargesheet in the special NIA court against Imtiaz Ansari alias Alam in connection with the Gandhi Maidan serial bomb blasts in October last year.

Electrocution

Siwan: Three persons, including two masons, were electrocuted to death in Siwan under Town police station on Thursday.

Green worries

Patna: Several students in the city made a presentation on global warming and climate change at a programme organised by Shri Krishna Science Centre on Thursday. Ashok Kumar Ghosh, head of department, environment & water management, AN College, also delivered a lecture on the topic.

Fake currency

Patna: Foreign currency worth Rs 92 lakh was seized from an SUV in Vaishali district on Thursday. Vaishali superintendent of police Suresh Prasad Choudhary said Abhishek Kumar and Mukesh Kumar were detained. The seized money includes US dollars, riyals, dinars and other currencies.

Gift of Hindi

Patna: The secretary of the Rajbhasha department, Nita Choudhary, on Thursday attended a workshop on the contribution of Hindi language in national integration organised by Punjab National Bank.

Bank plea

Patna: Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Industries on Thursday expressed concern over non-functioning of online fund transfer facility in all the banks in the state.

Court stamps

Patna: A division bench of the high court on Thursday asked the government to furnish action plans for maintenance and repair of court stamp franking machines installed in all district and sub-divisional courts to check fake court stamps.
