Fake job arrest

Patna: A person was arrested on Monday for allegedly taking money from people by offering them jobs in a fake news channel he had opened. olice said Chandrashakhar Singh used to run a channel-cum-institute, BEA News, and would take money from aspirants. The police have recovered identity cards from his possession, including a spy camera and electronic items.

Date extension

Patna: All India Students’ Federation delegation on Monday called on Patna University vice- chancellor Y.C. Simhadri, requesting him to extend the last date of filling up examination forms for postgraduate courses. Sources in the federation said the university administration accepted their demand and last date for filling examination forms was extended from April 22 to April 29.

Rebel in net

Gaya: A Maoist zonal commander was arrested on Sunday from Gaddupur village in Arwal district. Kavi alias Chunnu was wanted in at least 27 murder cases since 1995 in different districts including Gaya, Jehanabad, Patna, Aurangabad and Arwal.

Patna: Magadh Mahila College organised the 15th Yogendra Mishra Memorial Lecture, “From Ancient to Early Medieval India: A Plea for Writing Social History in its own terms”, on Monday. Vishwa Mohan Jha , a Delhi University historian, addressed the event.
