Bomb found on road

Gaya, April 2: Security personnel today recovered a can bomb weighing around 20kg planted along the roadside near Barheta village under the jurisdiction of Bankebazaar police station.he bomb was found in the morning during combing operations by central paramilitary forces and the district police in view of the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Patna: The state chief of JD(U), Bashishtha Narayan Singh has announced the names of five candidates who would contest from Assembly seats vacated. The wife of ex-MP Monajir Hassan, Shabnam Praveen, will contest from Sahebpur Kamal in Begurai district. The seat was vacant owing to resignation of Praveen Amanullah. Mojahid Alam was named for Kochadhanman seat in Kishanganj district. Syed Rukmuddin was named candidate from Baisi Assembly seat in Purnea district. From the Maharajganj Assembly seat, the wife of deceased JD(U) MLA Domodar Singh, Sonamati Devi, has been named. From Chiraiya Assembly seat in East Champaran, Manju Devi would be the candidate.

Assets on Net

Patna: The details of assets of around 3 lakh government employees have been uploaded on the official website of the state government. However, 94 IAS officers, who have not been able to furnish details of their property, have been given a 15-day ultimatum to do so. Earlier, it was announced that March 31, 2014, would be the last date of submission of property details for the government employees.

Patna: Disciplinary action is likely to be initiated against 20 newly appointed deputy superintendents of police on the recommendation of the state police headquarters, which found the allegations prima facie true.

Patna: The Election Commission on Wednesday clarified that expenses on organising a feast or langar for the electors would be included in the expenditure of the contestants. However, feast or other religious functions organised by the general mass has been exempted from the purview of the model code of conduct.

Patna: A high court bench of Justice Ramesh Kumar Dutta on Wednesday directed the state’s development commissioner to resolve disputes within a period of four weeks to restore the 102 emergency ambulance services.he court also directed the State Health Society to make payments of the outstanding dues to petitioner Dr Jain Video on Wheels, which runs the service within a period of four weeks, Aditya Prakash Sahay, the counsel for the petitioner, said.
