NIA grills blasts suspect

B>n Madhubani: A five-member National Investigation Agency (NIA) team on Thursday grilled Amit Kumar Mandal (30) at the district’s Babubarhi police station for an hour over the Gaya and Patna serial blasts. he special NIA court on Thursday rejected the regular bail petition of Umer Siddiqui in the Patna bomb blasts. The court fixed May 19 for hearing the bail petition of another accused, Ahmad Hussain, in the same case.

Red Cross Day

B>n Patna: The Indian Red Cross Society state branch hoisted the Red Cross flag to celebrate the World Red Cross Day in Patna on Thursday. On the occasion marking the society founder Sir Jean Henry Durant’s birth anniversary, around 1,500 volunteers and school students formed a human chain displaying placards and balloons at Red Cross Bhavan, Gandhi Maidan.
