Vigilance heat on officers

Patna, May 29: The vigilance investigation bureau today filed a chargesheet against former child development project officers of Dinara block in Rohtas Vedna Das and Shabnam Sheela Gudia, clerk Rajendra Prasad Yadav, Anganwadi worker Rinku Devi and former mukhiya of Dinara panchayat Rajgrih Ram in the special court. he case was in connection with irregularities in the appointment of Anganwadi workers.

Crash deaths

Muzaffarpur: Two persons, including a woman, travelling by a SUV died and three others suffered injuries when it collided with a bus near Jarang on the Muzaffarpur-Darbhanga stretch of NH-57 under Gaighat police station on Thursday afternoon.

Accident

Patna: A middle-aged man was killed and another seriously injured when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding tractor from behind on Digha-Patna road near Rajivnagar in Patna on Thursday. The tractor driver managed to escape leaving the vehicle on the spot. Residents blocked the road and disrupted traffic for more than five hours.

Protest

Ara: Bhojpur police on Thursday beat up hundreds of Badkagaon residents protesting against irregularities about below the poverty line list in the 2011 Census. The villagers had blocked the Ara-Patna route for around three hours.

Muzaffarpur (PTI): A Maoist leader, wanted in connection with the killing of a police officer in 2009, was arrested from a riverine area near Ghelpur Chaturpatti village of the district on Thursday.
