GMC letter to Beur jail

Gaya: Gaya Municipal Corporation (GMC) commissioner Ramvilas Paswan has written a letter to the Beur jail to allow GMC deputy mayor Akhauri Onkarnath alias Mohan Shrivastava and two other councillors, Vinod Mandal and Jitendra Kumar, to be present during the discussion on no-confidence motion against Shrivastava on June 20. hrivastava and the councillors are lodged in Beur jail for six months in connection with the rape of a minor girl.

Promotion

Patna: The departmental promotion committee on Friday recommended the promotion of two senior IAS officers, Vijoy Prakash (1981 batch) and Ananda Vardhan Sinha (1978 batch), to chief secretary rank.

Master plan

Patna: Urban development and housing minister Samrat Chaudhary said the execution of master plan for Patna would start from December. He was speaking at a felicitation ceremony organised by Indian Institute of Business Management and Dr Zakir Hussain Institute on Friday.

Dupe arrest

Patna: Central Bureau of Investigation sleuths on Friday arrested Varun Kumar Mishra and Yogendra Ram from Katihar on the charge of duping Rs 2 crore belonging to the post and telegraph department through fake money orders during 2012-13.

Rape charge

Aurangabad: A teenaged girl was allegedly gang raped by five youths at Hichanbigha village in Aurangabad district on Thursday. The victim was sent to sadar hospital for medical examination.

Review meet

Patna: Chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi held a review meet of officials of public health engineering department and stressed the need to maintain hygiene in villages.
