Siwan: Two criminals snatched Rs 8 lakh at gunpoint from one Shahid Ahmad Ansari near Ander railway crossing under Town police station on Wednesday morning. hahid, who was on his way back after withdrawing the money, has lodged an FIR.

Harass plea

Patna: A delegation of Indian Medical Association, Bihar, Bihar Health Services Association and Junior Doctors’ Association on Wednesday met director-general of police P.K. Thakur in connection with alleged harassment of doctors by police in recent times. The delegation requested Thakur to take appropriate action in cases where doctors are falsely implicated.

Petition

Patna: A petition was filed in the high court on Wednesday challenging the election of Kaushalendra Kumar as Nalanda MP. The petitioner alleged gross electoral malpractices and misuse of government machineries in the election. The court directed Kumar to appear in the court on August 9.

Patna: Dissident JDU MLAs Gyanendra Singh Gyanu, Ravindra Rai, Neeraj Singh Bablu and Rahul Sharma on Wednesday submitted their written answers to the speaker in connection with the JDU’s demand to disqualify them from the House on account of cross-voting during the Rajya Sabha by-polls. he speaker has fixed July 19 as the next date for hearing.

Patna: Police have questioned two state industrialists, Akhilesh Bajaj and Vinod Kheria, in connection with the recovery of cash, which allegedly belongs to Nawada MP Giiraj Singh.

Patna: A delegation of the Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BCCI) on Wednesday met chief secretary Anjani Kumar Singh and informed him about the problems faced by entrepreneurs and traders of the state.
