Patna: The environment and forest department will soon be renamed as the department of environment, forest and climate change.
In a programme organised by the Centre for Environment, Energy and Climate Change that functions under the Asian Development Research Institute, deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, who heads the department, said the addition of climate change in the name shows how crucial it is to study the changing climate patterns.
The event had been organised to distribute certificates among trainees of the Green Skill Development Programme who participated in the training on two subjects - Water Budgeting and Auditing and Pollution Monitors: Air & Water Pollution.
The training had started on July 9 and 40 trainees took part in the event.
The training module included classes by faculty and researchers, interaction with grassroot social workers and hands-on training through field orientation in relevant sectors.
