Patna, Oct. 18: Police today claimed to have traced the two missing students of the city-based St Dominic Savio High School. The duo were reportedly spotted in Amritsar.
The boys, Class V student Vibhakar and Jai Prakash (Class X student), went missing on Saturday evening. The cops were tight-lipped on their whereabouts as they were still not in police protection, but sources told The Telegraph a team of cops was on way to Amritsar to bring the students back to the city.
The boys are at present in custody of a person in Amritsar. Strangely, the Bihar police had not contacted their Amritsar counterparts till late evening. “The resident of Amritsar has been requested to keep the boys till the police arrived. We are trying to contact the police station of the area (in Amritsar) for help,” a police officer told The Telegraph.
Both Vibhakar and Jai Prakash stay in their school hostel under the jurisdiction of SK Puri police. The duo went out to play on Saturday evening but did not return to the hostel. Vibhakar’s father, Kumar Jitendra Singh, a resident of the Sheohar district, lodged a missing complaint with SK Puri police on Sunday. He blamed the hostel authorities for negligence and accused Jai Prakash of luring Vibhakar away.
The police sources said the boys first went to Ara and then to Amritsar on a train. A resident of Amritsar spotted them wandering aimlessly and enquired where were they from. Vibhakar reportedly told him that they were from Patna.
