An 11-year-old girl died and three others were injured of electrocution at Musallahpur Girls’ Middle School on Wednesday.

The accident occurred when the main gate of the school touched a live electric wire. Police said a shop near the school had illegally taken electricity from an overhead wire. Rain might have caused the electrocution of the school gate.

The deceased has been identified as Shivani Kumar. She died while coming out of the school.

Residents sat on a dharna demanding compensation for the family of the girl.
