Shopaholics of the town would be able to indulge in their addiction, like their counterparts in metropolitan cities, at a swanky mall.
The facility — to be constructed by the state government — would come up in two years on a land provided by the district board. Around Rs 24 crore would be spent on the construction.
An assistant engineer of the district board, Amarendra Singh, told The Telegraph: “The government would construct the building. It has taken up the project on an experimental basis. The facility would provide benefits to the people of the town.”
Once completed, residents would be able to shop for almost everything from clothes to food to home appliance at the shopping mall.
Sources said an architect of the rural development department has already surveyed the proposed site. A plan to construct the four-storyed building has also been chalked up. The shopping mall would also have a parking space, which would be constructed at the cost of Rs 1 crore.
