Ashok Jaiswal (52), killed outside his Danapur residence yesterday, had to pay the price for his son's love affair and marriage.

Most shops in Danapur remained shut today and senior BJP leaders like Sushil Modi attended Jaiswal's funeral. Police said Dinesh Singh and Chotu Singh, who had planned and executed the murder, were on the run. The duo were uncles of Soumya, a girl whom Jaiswal's son married against her family's wishes recently, cops added.

Patna senior superintendent of police Manu Maharaaj said: "Probe found the duo had eloped to marry. An enmity ensued between the families."
