Patna: The BJP on Thursday said Congress president Rahul Gandhi had no right to question Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his government's achievements in the last four years and should instead list what was achieved during the reign by four generations of his family.
"You are asking questions on four years, but people of the country want to know about the rule by four generations of your family and what it gave to the country," BJP chief Amit Shah told a meeting of BJP workers.
Maintaining that the BJP believed in giving accounts to people, Shah said he would send the details to people of the country as well as those of Bihar. The BJP chief went on to share comparative details about funds that came to Bihar during UPA government and during the current NDA government.
"When the UPA was in power, Rs 1.93 lakh crore had come to the state on the recommendation of the 13th Finance Commission," Shah said. "When the NDA came to power, Bihar got Rs 4.33 lakh crore, in accordance with the recommendations of the 14th finance commission."
He also gave details about other funds that came to Bihar and spoke about different projects under which the Bihar government got funds from the Centre.
The BJP president also spoke about schemes like Ujjwala, Mudra and rural and household electrification and told party workers how Bihar had benefited from these schemes.
Shah also pooh-poohed talk of Opposition unity ahead of the Lok Sabha election. He said all those who were talking of joining hands against the NDA had opposed it in the 2014 elections.
After sharing these details, Shah once again trained his gun at the Congress president, saying had the earlier UPA governments done these things for the benefit of poor people of the country, the BJP government would not have got the opportunity to do so much of work.
Shah also attacked Rahul for his alliance with Lalu Prasad (read RJD).
